To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
 
 
We Interact Using The Youth Development Strategy

  • A sense of competence – the feeling there is something boys and girls can do well.
  • A sense of usefulness – the opportunity to do something of value for other people.
  • A sense of belonging – a setting where an individual knows he or she has a place and where he or she “ fits” and is accepted.
  • A sense of power or influence – a chance to be heard and to influence decisions.

 

We Practice a Set of Principles
  • Clubs are for both boys and girls. They have a girls and boys membership and satisfy the age-old desire of boys and girls to have a club of their own.
  • Clubs have full time professional leadership, supplemented by part time workers and volunteers.
  • Clubs require no proof of good character. They help and guide boys and girls who may be in danger of acquiring, or who already have acquired, unacceptable habits and attitudes, as well as those of good character.
  • Clubs make sure that all boys and girls can belong. Membership dues are kept low so that all boys and girls can afford to belong and even the least interested will not be deterred from joining because of economical barriers.
  • Clubs are for boys and girls of all races, religions, and ethnicity.
  • Clubs are building centered. Activities are carried on in the warm, friendly atmosphere of buildings specifically designed to conduct programs.
  • Clubs are non-sectarian.
  • Clubs have an open door policy. Clubs are open to all members during hours of operation.
  • Clubs have a varied and diversified program that recognizes and responds to the collective and individual needs of both boys and girls.
  • Clubs are guidance oriented. Clubs emphasize values inherent in the relationship between members and their peers and their adult leaders.
